EU, Japan and Canada support Taiwan

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe voiced their support of Taiwan’s bid to join the World Health Organization (WHO) respectively on January 29 and 30.

The Spokesperson of the European External Action Service Virginie Battu-Henriksson told the Central News Agency in a written response that while the EU only maintains observer status in the WHO, it is supportive of Taiwan’s participation in the body.

President Tsai Ing-wen and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs thank Abe, Trudeau, the European Union as well as other international friends who have recently voiced support for Taiwan’s inclusion in the WHO.
