Estonian airline Nordica will add two new routes from Groningen Airport in next spring. As per March 26, 2018 it is possible to fly also Brussels and Munich. Both airports are so called hub-airports allowing good connectivity from Groningen via hubs to all over the world.
With this strong expansion the airport makes a big step towards the realization of their future ambitions. The whole world is within reach with these new destinations from Groningen Airport Eelde. The airport will be the starting point for travelers from the Northern part of The Netherlands for a holiday, a city-break or a business trip. Munich will be connected daily and Brussels six times a week.
Nordica bases a CRJ700 at Groningen Airport Eelde from 25^th of March and will be looking at recruiting local cabin crew and pilots. Estonian airline is in a strong expansion phase and expects to show positive financial result in 2017.
As per today tickets to Copenhagen, Munich and Brussels are available, from € 99,- for a return  ticket, via www.flynordica.com or at a (business) travel agency.

Cooperation with Star Alliance Partners
The connections to Copenhagen, Munich and Brussels are operated by Nordica, in cooperation with LOT Polish Airlines. Through connections from these hub-airports are offered by SAS Scandinavian Airlines, Lufthansa and other Star Alliance partners.

June 6, 2018, Ukraine International launches new non-stop scheduled flights between Toronto and Kiev. Tickets are available at UIA ticket offices, the carrier’s official website, and authorized travel agencies.

The new triple-weekly flights will be operated on long-haul wide-body Boeing 767-300 aircraft with three-class cabin configuration – Business Class, Premium Economy Class, and Economy Class. Travel time from to Kiev is 9 hours 25 minutes and from to Toronto – 10 hours 25 minutes.

UIA offers one-way economy class tickets (all taxes and surcharges included) for Toronto – Kiev flights at the price from 590 USD.

This year, the event was hosted at the Four Points by Sheraton Catania Hotel & Conference Center. All participants were welcomed at Catania Fontanarossa Airport by the organizers Europe Congress, the Sicily Convention Bureau and event partner Incoming Italy DMC.

The event was formally closed through short speeches by the Sicily Convention Bureau and the organizing company, Europe Congress.

Chers collègues,

Après une période de sommeil ou de « stand by » et un nouveau départ depuis février 2017, le Skål International de Bruxelles s’est réactivé en un temps assez rapide.

Après le succès de nos deux soirées-débat, dont la presse professionnelle a fait largement écho, le Skål de Bruxelles en sa qualité de « think tank » du secteur tout entier lié de près ou de loin au voyage (agences de voyage, hôtellerie, transports, presse touristique, assurances voyages, horeca, etc.) continuera sur sa lancée et proposera dès février ’18 des conférences, soirées-débat et autres activités.

L’accès à ces soirées-débat et conférences était gratuit et nombreux furent ceux qui ont assisté à des explications et échanges de vue en présence de nombreuses figures du monde hôtelier, des agences de voyages et associations diverses. Un de ces débats sur un sujet brûlant nous a même amenés à être invités à participer à une réunion de travail au cabinet de la présidence de la Région Bruxelloise: le Skål de Bruxelles devient là aussi une voix de confiance.

Un groupement d hôteliers indépendants de France s’est également déplacé et nous a fait le plaisir d’intervenir  pendant un forum.

Lors de ces activités, nos professionnels belges rencontrent des collègues belges ou étrangers dans une ambiance amicale tout en « faisant des affaires entre amis », ce qui correspond à l’un des buts de notre organisation internationale.

Riga. The Latvian airline airBaltic will launch a new direct service from Tallinn to London Gatwick Airport on March 27, 2018. The two weekly flights will offer convenient connections between the two cities.

Bij de naam Republika Srpska denkt niet iedereen meteen aan een nieuwe toeristische bestemming. Toch heeft het gebied veel te bieden voor toeristen: Een nog ongerepte natuur, unieke culturele bezienswaardigheden, verschillende spa’s en wellnesscentra, een heerlijke gastronomie en bovendien een ontzettend gastvrije bevolking. Redenen genoeg dus om dit gebied eens te bezoeken. Republika Srpska zal zijn toeristische aanbod weer presenteren op de Vakantiebeurs in Utrecht van 9 t/m 14 januari.

Ligging en belangrijkste steden

Republika Srpska behoorde tot 1991 tot het voormalige Joegoslavië en wordt sinds 1995 internationaal erkend als een van de twee entiteiten van Bosnië en Hercegovina. Het gebied ligt in het hart van de Balkan en grenst aan Servië, Kroatië en Montenegro en heeft een oppervlakte van 25.052 km², iets meer dan de helft van Nederland. De grootste stad is Banja Luka dat ongeveer 200.000 inwoners telt en tevens het administratieve en culturele centrum van de regio is. Andere bezienswaardige steden van Republika Srpska zijn Trebinje en Visegrad die bekend staan vanwege hun rijke cultuurgeschiedenis.

Wandelen, fietsen, raften en kamperen

Republika Srpska heeft een nog ongerept landschap bestaande uit bergen, canyons en rivieren met talrijke mogelijkheden voor liefhebbers van actieve vakanties. De twee nationale parken, Kozara in het noordwesten en Sutjeska in het zuiden, lenen zich uitstekend voor prachtige wandel- en fietstochten. In Nationaal Park Sutjeska ligt tevens een van de laatste oerbossen van Europa, het Perućica bos.

Daarnaast is het gebied rondom Sipovo, vlakbij Banja Luka, een aanrader voor natuurliefhebbers, met zijn talrijke rivieren en watervallen. Naast wandelen en fietsen kan men hier tevens vliegvissen op de Pliva rivier.

Sinds kort  zijn er georganiseerde fietstochten met vertrek vanuit Banja Luka, waarbij men onder leiding van een gids de prachtige landschappen verkent en kennis maakt met de lokale bevolking.

Adrenaline fans kunnen hun hart ophalen door te gaan raften of kajakken op de Vrbas rivier, net ten zuiden van Banja Luka, of de Tara en Drina rivier in het oosten van het land.

Het aanbod aan campings is nog vrij beperkt maar wanneer men niet teveel eisen heeft wat betreft faciliteiten vindt men prachtige kampeerplekken midden in de natuur. Daarnaast worden er verschillende georganiseerde rondreizen voor campers aangeboden.

Spa-  en wellnesstoerisme

De Balkan staat bekend om haar talrijke natuurlijke waterbronnen. Republika Srpska heeft verschillende spa’s en wellnesscentra waar men heerlijk kan ontspannen of waar men terecht kan voor een gezondheidskuur.

Banja Vrucica is het grootste wellness- en gezondheidscentrum en tevens het grootste toeristische complex van geheel Bosnië en Hercegovina. Het resort telt meerdere hotels waaronder het 4* hotel Kardial en beschikt over alle mogelijke faciliteiten zoals zwembaden sauna’s, sportvelden en medische voorzieningen. Andere belangrijke spa’s zijn Banja Kulasi, dat midden in een prachtige natuurlijke omgeving ligt en recent geheel gerenoveerd is, en Banja Laktasi op slechts een steenworp afstand van Banja Luka.

Gastronomie en wijn

Naast culturele en historische hoogtepunten heeft Republika Srpska ook een bruisende uitgaanscultuur met talrijke restaurants, bars en cafés. De gastronomie van Bosnië en Hercegovina bestaat uit een mix van westerse en oriëntaalse invloeden en is vooral gebaseerd op het ‘slowfood principe’ met talrijke traditionele gerechten die gebaseerd zijn op lokale en organische ingrediënten. De regio Hercegovina in het zuiden is het zonnigste deel van het land en biedt excellente condities voor de wijnproductie. In deze regio bevinden zich talrijke wijnkelders en wijngaarden, met de historische stad Trebinje als centrum voor de wijndistributie. Inmiddels zijn er verschillende gastronomische rondreizen inclusief kookworkshops en wijnproeverijen.

Bereikbaarheid

Republika Srpska is gemakkelijk te bereiken vanuit de buurlanden Kroatië en Servië. Er zijn verschillende rechtstreekse vluchten naar Zagreb (HR), Split (HR), Dubrovnik (HR) en Belgrado (SRB). Met Air Serbia kan men tevens op Banja Luka vliegen met een overstap in Belgrado. Wizzair biedt rechtstreekse vluchten vanuit Eindhoven naar Tuzla (BiH). De afstand Amsterdam-Banja Luka met de auto is ruim 1500 KM (via Frankfurt, Nurnberg, Passau, Graz, Zagreb) en de route bestaat vrijwel volledig uit snelwegen. Een Nederlandse identiteitskaart volstaat voor reizen naar Republika Srpska. Tevens is het Nederlandse rijbewijs hier geldig.

Riga. The Latvian airline airBaltic has been ranked No 1 globally in punctuality in 2017 by OAG analysts, who tracked the performance of a total of over 50 million flight records. airBaltic has been on the top of the global on-time performance ranking for the past four consecutive years.

Martin Gauss, Chief Executive Officer of airBaltic: “Our customers can rely on a punctual service. In 2017, airBaltic had one of the busiest years ever, significantly increasing the number of flights performed and carrying record high volumes of passengers. Eurostar, de hogesnelheidstrein die het Verenigd Koninkrijk met het Europees vasteland verbindt, kondigt de lancering van zijn nieuwe loyaltyprogramma aan: Club Eurostar. Het nieuwe programma is beschikbaar voor alle vrijetijds- en zakenreizigers en biedt meer flexibiliteit en extra voordelen. Reizigers uit de hele wereld kunnen kosteloos inschrijven voor het programma.

Er zijn drie niveaus in Club Eurostar, waardoor nu alle reizigers voordelen halen uit hun reizen, de niveaus zijn niet verbonden aan een bepaalde reisklasse. Bovendien is het nu voor het eerst mogelijk om punten te gebruiken voor upgrades of reiskortingen. Punten voor gratis tickets is nog altijd mogelijk, er zijn geen uitzonderingsdata of bijkomende kosten.

Eenvoudig te gebruiken

Met gloednieuwe selfservice-opties van de nieuwe app, die binnenkort gelanceerd wordt, kunnen reizigers snel en gemakkelijk zelf hun punten beheren, de kortingen en voordelen bekijken waar ze recht op hebben en, als dit in hun pakket zit, toegang krijgen tot de Business Premier lounges zonder dat daarvoor een fysieke kaart nodig is.

Wanneer reizigers tickets boeken, krijgen ze onmiddellijk 1 punt per £ 1 die ze besteden aan een reis*. De punten kunnen worden besteed aan Eurostar-reizen, upgrades en, vanaf 2018, ticketkortingen. Avantage en Carte Blanche-leden kunnen hun punten ook besteden in de Club Eurostar shop aan een selectie producten, waaronder elektronica, mode- en reisaccessoires, horloges en parfum.
